All ratings at standard GMA 48×40 in footprint. Custom sizes available — specify when quoting.
| Pallet Type | Static Load | Dynamic Load | Racking Load | Stack Ratio (empty) | Min Temp |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nestable | 3,000 lb | 1,500 lb | Not rated | 10:1 | −20°C |
| Stackable | 4,500 lb | 2,200 lb | 2,000 lb | 4:1 | −30°C |
| Rackable (standard) | 5,000 lb | 2,500 lb | 2,500 lb per beam | 2:1 | −30°C |
| Rackable (heavy duty) | 6,000 lb | 3,000 lb | 3,000 lb per beam | 2:1 | −30°C |
The most common racking type. Rackable PP pallets are designed with runner beam centers matching standard 42-inch selective rack beam spans. The runner bottom surface contacts the beams across the full span width — no center-sag over a 5-year racking cycle. Specify your beam face width and coating when ordering to confirm runner compatibility.
Drive-in racking requires a pallet with a full perimeter bottom rail to sit on the row guide rails. Not all plastic pallets are suitable — confirm the base rail profile with Elipacko before ordering for drive-in applications.
Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) require ±3 mm dimensional tolerance across all pallet dimensions and a specific bottom-deck surface profile for conveyor and shuttle engagement. Elipacko supplies AS/RS-specified pallets — provide your system manufacturer's pallet specification document when quoting.
Every country that enforces ISPM 15 requires heat-treatment or fumigation certificates for wood pallets. This adds days to shipment preparation, cost per pallet for certification, and risk of inspection holdups at the port of entry. Plastic pallets contain no wood. They are ISPM 15 exempt by nature — no certificates, no delays, no holdups.
Wood pallets used for export are often sourced locally — meaning inconsistent construction, varying board thickness, and dimensional variance that causes problems at automated receiving docks. A plastic pallet from Elipacko is manufactured to the same tooling tolerance every time, in every batch.
Methyl bromide fumigation, still used in some markets, leaves residues on wood that can transfer to food products. PP pallets require no fumigation and carry no residue risk. Contact Elipacko for export pallet specifications.
A rackable pallet has structural runner beams designed to span rack beam pairs without sagging — it can be loaded on a rack without a full deck support. A stackable pallet has a solid base that requires full floor or deck support. Stackable pallets typically have higher static load ratings for floor stacking but cannot be used in beam racking without a full deck beneath them.
Yes. Elipacko's rackable and stackable heavy duty pallets are rated to −30°C continuous use. The PP formulation is impact-modified to maintain toughness at freezer temperatures — it will not become brittle or crack during normal forklift handling in a frozen store.
Yes — by exemption. ISPM 15 applies to wood packaging. Plastic pallets contain no wood and are therefore exempt from all ISPM 15 requirements. No heat-treatment documentation or fumigation is required for export. This applies to all Elipacko plastic pallets.
Standard GMA 48×40 inches are available from existing tooling. Custom dimensions require new tooling. Lead times and tooling costs are confirmed at the quoting stage with Elipacko.
Under normal industrial warehouse conditions, Elipacko heavy duty pallets are designed for a 10+ year service life. The main factors that reduce service life are UV exposure (outdoor long-term storage), chemical exposure (incompatible cleaning agents), and severe impact from repeated forklift tine misalignment. All three are avoidable with correct handling and storage protocols.
